Metropolitan Art
A journey into the territory and the multidisciplinary dimension of art
Metropolitan Art is a bridge between the performing arts and contemporary art, an exciting journey between artworks and live performance, where visitors are the protagonists of a collective adventure.
It is an innovative project of education, training, research and artistic production, with workshop and performance activities, museum visits, and the setup of performative/exhibition spaces.
A journey of discovery through art and the territory
For the eleventh edition of the Metropolitan Art project, following an effective approach already tested in previous editions, we envision a comprehensive response to all the objectives of Circoscrizioni, che spettacolo… dal vivo! 2026. While maintaining and developing the project’s distinctive features, we plan to deliver highly qualified artistic activities that are at the same time accessible to all residents of the territory and to young artists, thus promoting educational and training initiatives related to the languages of contemporary art, while also fostering significant opportunities for social cohesion. Stalker Teatro, in collaboration with two nationally active companies in the planning phase, will carry out different actions across various local venues:
the C.C. Lorusso e Cutugno; the I.C. Padre Gemelli; the R.S.A. Villa Primule; the BiblioBus/Torino Civic Libraries at Piazza Montale; the local branch of La Cultura dietro l’angolo in the Le Vallette neighborhood, at Officine CAOS. In its ten previous editions, Metropolitan Art has already demonstrated its ability to connect Le Vallette to the rest of the city, through a network of relationships with numerous associations in Circoscrizione 5, with events that attract residents from across the entire city and through interaction with major cultural centers, leading each year to the creation of new contemporary art productions involving many citizens.
